Susitna Cabin

It was quiet. Nice to have a washer and dryer. Positive: Great location. Washer and dryer Negative: Bathroom downstairs with bed upstairs.

Perfect location in Talkeetna Positive: Location and 2 beds

Good spot to stay but disappointed we lost vacation time. Positive: Location - Just a couple blocks to the main street with shops and food. Negative: This small unit was selected for the included washer and dryer to allow us to do laundry halfway through our trip. Washing machine was broken, owner said he thought it got fixed. This required us to do laundry the next morning at the laundry mat. Laundry mat adventure delayed our departure 5 hours and caused us to miss stops planned along the route to Anchorage and a scheduled tour. The owner refunded $100 but it took multiple calls and will be 3 weeks to receive. On the plus side met a gentleman who moved from Boston to Talkeetna 32 years ago at the laundry mat and had some great stories about the area.

Cute, cozy, comfortable cabin! Positive: We ate breakfast in town at Homestead Inn, which was delicious and a good value. The cabin did not have a breakfast service. This cabin is just off the main street but still very much in the heart of the town. All businesses are within walking distance. All mattresses were comfortable. We used the laundry facilities in our cabin. Negative: I wished there was a teapot, but I made do with a cooking pan.

We had a great time here. Positive: Very comfortable accommodation. Negative: Nothing really. We just had some issues to find the accommodation. The address didn’t lead us to the right place.
